Some Q & A
Q: Why are you doing this?
A: Our original theme on your site has been there for some time. Best practices would dictate that you update your backend (the software) and the frontend (what people see on your pages) about once every 24 months or so. We have valued you as a customer, and would like to continue being your development team and host and support your site.
With older themes, they become more difficult to keep up and have security issues. It works best for all of us if we install a new theme on your site. Plus, you get essentially a brand new site for your users at no additional cost. Just continue to host and get support with us and it's a win-win!

Q: Will my site have to change from my current CMS?
A: No, we will keep your site the same so there's no learning curve on the back-end.

Q: What if I want to change my CMS?
A: We will provide the set up for the new CMS, the install of the new CMS theme, and then will quote you on having your old CMS content on the new CMS. Some site software and content may increase or decrease estimated time to migrate.

Q: Will my site be down at all?
A: No, we will develop the new site with the new theme in a sandbox, then switch it over to the live version once approved.

Q: If we want to make some changes to content, is that included?
A: Some small changes may be okay, but we'll have to talk about them. Changing a picture on your biography to an updated look is one thing. New functionality, new sections or pages, or re-development is not covered, but we have made it available at a discounted rate to valued customers.

Q: What restrictions are there on themes?
A: If the theme has the same framework--that's geek-speak for the underlying software that handles the behavior of the theme (like how the menus drop down, and what extra features they add to WordPress or Joomla, depending on your site)--then there's no problem. If the framework changes, then we will have to give you a quote on the cost to change because sometimes frameworks aren't compatible.

Q: How long will this take?
A: We are doing these on a first-come, first-served basis. We will schedule a time for you within the next few months to start work. In the meantime, we will meet to determine what new look you want on your site.

Q: How do I get started?
A: We will contact you after 12 months of support, and we'll set up a meeting. There, we will talk about what you want from your new themed site. If there are any new features you'd like to add, bring them up at that point. We'll quote them separately. Then we'll look at themes for your site and pick a few options for you to review with your team. Once you pick a winner, we'll get it on the calendar and give you an ETA!
